Process Automation Lead

Location: Heredia, Costa Rica - Hybrid

The Opportunity

Strategio is hiring for a high-impact automation leadership role in Costa Rica. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract designed to cover parental leave.

You will step into a critical leadership role overseeing both delivery and people. The Process Automation Manager will guide the execution of strategic automation initiatives across finance, risk, and operations functions. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, automation developers, and global partners to drive transformation at scale.

This role blends technical fluency with business context, and requires someone with prior experience in FP&A while enabling high-performing automation teams.



About You:


You are a strong people leader with the technical and strategic mindset to deliver automation outcomes across a global financial organization. You are proficient in finance, especially FP&A, and comfortable managing end-to-end projects from discovery through implementation. You prioritize enablement, unblock teams quickly, and can translate business direction into clear workflows and deliverables. You understand the pace and precision required in enterprise environments and are ready to step into a high-visibility interim leadership role.

As a Process Automation Lead, you will:


  • Lead and manage a team of automation developers based across multiple locations.
  • Oversee high-priority projects, including RPA migration and AI use case development
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives spanning FP&A, risk, audit, and operations
  • Serve as the key point of contact for project health, delivery updates, and escalation
  • Guide the selection and application of tools like PowerAutomate, PowerBI, and Alteryx
  • Define SOPs, playbooks, and documentation standards
  • Collaborate with global partners (offshore team) for handoff and timezone coverage
  • Support stakeholder alignment through clear communication and prioritization


Core Skills


  • Proven leadership experience managing automation or process engineering teams
  • Strong background in FP&A or Finance Operations (Must)
  • Hands-on experience with PowerAutomate, PowerBI, and Alteryx
  • Track record of leading end-to-end process automation initiatives
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills with technical and business stakeholders
  • Experience in hybrid or global delivery models
  • Experience building operational infrastructure (e.g., Jira setup, SOPs)


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Salesforce Einstein, or Microsoft Copilot
  • Experience managing migrations from Automation Anywhere
  • Experience in finance-adjacent automation (royalties, payments, accounting workflows)
