Our client is one of the world's leading pension funds, currently building a new trading platform and consolidating a complex landscape of order management systems. For this purpose, they’re partnering with Strategio to build a high-performing, AI-first consulting team that will support the large-scale transformation initiative.

The environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and involves direct interaction with senior stakeholders across technology, trading, and investment operations functions.

This role sits at the delivery end of the program, using AI tooling to accelerate test case generation, UAT preparation, process documentation, data validation, and regression analysis across a complex capital markets environment. You are the person who catches the gap between what was specified and what was actually built.

We offer a full-time permanent role within the Strategio Financial Services Practice in Toronto, hybrid 4 days onsite and 1 day remote, on a long-term consulting deployment with our client.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute UAT packs, test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and regression analysis across trading and middle office workflows
• Use AI tools to accelerate test case generation, documentation, data quality checks, and the production of validation evidence
• Work with business and technology stakeholders to ensure testing reflects real operational scenarios, edge cases, and exception paths — not just happy paths
• Document and maintain process workflows, business requirements, and validation artifacts throughout the program
• Identify gaps between what has been built and how the business actually operates, and escalate clearly and promptly
• Support adoption readiness by ensuring stakeholders can understand, validate, and sign off on what has been delivered

What You Bring

Communication:

• Confident and credible on a trading floor, able to hold your ground and earn trust quickly with senior stakeholders
• Clear written and verbal communicator who can translate complexity for both business and tech audiences

Analytical

• Strong testing and Business Analyst fundamentals: test case design, UAT management, requirements traceability, and acceptance criteria
• Naturally thorough: surfaces edge cases, exception paths, and gaps between specification and reality without needing to be prompted
• Naturally asks: does this actually work the way the business expects, what scenario have we not tested, what could fail in production
• Organized and able to manage large volumes of test scenarios across multiple concurrent workstreams without losing quality

Financial Markets

• Good understanding of public markets across equities, fixed income, derivatives (listed and OTC), and/or FX, sufficient to design test scenarios that reflect how the business actually operates
• Familiarity with the trade lifecycle, OMS, clearing, settlement, or middle office operations: you do not need to be a specialist in any one area, but you need enough range to test credibly across them
• Able to recognize when a test scenario is too simplistic or when a critical edge case has been missed
• Exposure to UAT delivery in a trading, investment management, or financial markets technology context is a plus
• Depth of knowledge will be valued over years of experience.

AI Fluency

•  Usage of AI tools daily, and have applied them specifically to testing, documentation, or delivery workflows
• Have built or materially improved something using AI: a test generator, documentation accelerator, data quality check, validation tool, or automation script
• Able to validate AI-generated outputs, identify errors, and ensure quality before use
• Understand hallucination risk, auditability, and the need for human review in a regulated financial environment
• Think in terms of what AI can help build, test, validate, and accelerate, not just what it can answer

What this is not:

This is not a QA or software testing role. You are not testing code. You are ensuring that what has been built accurately reflects how the business operates in practice, using AI to do it faster and more thoroughly than has been possible before.
