The Opportunity

Strategio is supporting a major investment data transformation initiative within one of Canada’s leading institutional investors. We are seeking a Data & IBOR Analyst with strong Capital Markets and Investment Data experience to help manage, analyze, and improve the flow of investment, position, security master, and market data across front-office, risk, operations, and reporting platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of IBOR and ABOR concepts, data lineage, pricing feeds, and the downstream impact of data quality issues across the investment ecosystem.

About You:

You are naturally curious and analytical, with a strong understanding of how investment data moves throughout an organization. You don't simply see tables, databases, or reports, you understand the business impact of data and how issues propagate across downstream consumers when data is incorrect, delayed, or incomplete.

You are comfortable discussing concepts such as IBOR, ABOR, data lineage, golden sources, pricing feeds, and trade lifecycle events. You enjoy solving complex problems, investigating root causes, and collaborating with stakeholders across business and technology teams to improve data quality and operational efficiency.

As a Strategio Data & IBOR Analyst you will:

  • Analyze and support investment, position, valuation, security master, and market data across multiple platforms and business functions.
  • Monitor and validate IBOR and ABOR data to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Trace data lineage across upstream and downstream systems to identify dependencies, gaps, and operational risks.
  • Investigate data quality issues and perform root cause analysis across investment, operations, risk, finance, and reporting processes.
  • Support reconciliation activities between investment platforms and downstream consumers.
  • Analyze pricing feeds, reference data, and valuation processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of critical investment information.
  • Collaborate with investment operations, portfolio management, risk, finance, and technology teams to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Support data governance initiatives, including data stewardship, data quality controls, and golden source management.
  • Document business rules, operational processes, data flows, and issue resolution procedures.
  • Participate in investment data transformation, platform enhancement, and process improvement initiatives.

Core Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Asset Management, Institutional Investing, Capital Markets, Investment Operations, or Investment Data Management environments.
  • Strong understanding of IBOR and ABOR concepts and their role within investment ecosystems.
  • Experience working with investment data, portfolio data, market data, reference data, and security master data.
  • Knowledge of trade lifecycle events, valuations, positions, and investment operations processes.
  • Experience analyzing data lineage, data flows, and downstream system impacts.
  • Strong understanding of data quality management, reconciliation processes, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with data governance and data stewardship practices.
  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis and investigation.
