Business Analyst

The Opportunity

Strategio is expanding its Enterprise Financial Services Practice and supporting a major transformation initiative for one of Canada’s largest investment management firms. This organization oversees hundreds of billions in AUM.

You will support the planning, implementation, and optimization of business-critical platforms in the financial services sector. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of data, business logic, and user needs. You’ll act as a translator between business stakeholders and IT teams, contributing to analytics platform enhancements, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.



About You:


You are a proactive, bilingual (French/English) problem-solver with deep experience in both business and systems analysis. You're motivated by complex challenges, naturally inquisitive, and confident working across both technical and financial domains. You thrive in Agile environments, communicate with clarity, and possess the drive to push solutions forward.


As a Strategio Business Analyst, you will:


  • Liaise between business and IT teams to translate requirements into actionable specifications
  • Analyze, maintain, and support operational and analytical platforms
  • Lead problem analysis and propose effective, scalable solutions
  • Design, configure, and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Collaborate on solution design to ensure business and technical alignment
  • Author functional specifications and define interface requirements
  • Participate in all stages of the SDLC including integration, UAT, and regression testing
  • Work in both incident management and continuous improvement contexts



Core Skills


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
  • Proven experience in business and systems analysis
  • Solid experience working within financial investment applications or BI ecosystems
  • SQL proficiency for deep data analysis and troubleshooting
  • Strong working knowledge of Power BI, including customization and optimization
  • Familiarity with XML messaging, including XSLT transformations and JSON structures
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and Windows environments
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills



Nice-to-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Financial certifications such as CFA or FRM
  • Experience in high-velocity enterprise environments
  • Previous exposure to traditional and Agile SDLC methodologies
