Associate Project Manager

Location: Heredia, Costa Rica - Hybrid

The Opportunity

Strategio is hiring for a high-impact Associate Project Manager role in Costa Rica.

You will step into a critical role overseeing delivery of results and serving as a bridge between management and operations. The Associate Project Manager will guide the execution of strategy and planning initiatives across a Fortune 500 company. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, software developers, and global partners to drive transformation at scale.

This role blends technical fluency with business context, and requires someone with prior experience in Project Management while enabling high-performing operations teams.


About You:


You’re a confident communicator and a proactive planner, known for turning complexity into clarity. With hands-on experience in Scrum practices and project ownership, you bring structure to chaos and motivate teams to deliver on time. Your command of Jira, especially dashboarding, makes progress visible and goals actionable. You lead with insight and present with purpose. Detail-oriented, highly organized, and grounded in real-world delivery.

As an Associate Project Manager, you will:


  • Assist in identifying project status, issues, and/or risks, and finding collaborative solutions to release deployment.
  • Communicate project updates effectively to ensure all stakeholders such as business teams, software engineers, testers, and vendors are informed of project developments.
  • Gather project requirements to facilitate a smooth transition from initial planning to final implementation using Agile (Scrum) techniques. 
  • Structure project activities and keep track of tasks and deadlines, tracking deliverables for the workstream using JIRA. 
  • Ability to present quantitative and qualitative technical data to drive decisions ensuring the project meets the required standards, using tools such as Excel and Power BI to create dashboards and data visualization


Core Skills


  • Proven track record in end-to-end Project Management, with experience driving cross-functional initiatives to successful delivery.
  • Fluency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), with the ability to lead stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning with confidence.
  • Expertise in Jira, including backlog grooming, sprint tracking, and advanced dashboard/report building.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, able to engage and align diverse stakeholders from engineering to executive level.
  • Proactive risk identification and mitigation, with the ability to troubleshoot and facilitate collaborative, scalable solutions.
  • Ability to synthesize and present data (quantitative & qualitative) to support informed decision-making.
  • Experience collaborating with globally distributed teams across time zones and cultures.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Background in highly regulated industries, especially finance or insurance, where documentation, audit, and compliance are key.
  • Hands-on with Power BI and Power Automate, leveraging dashboards to visualize project metrics and streamline workflows.
  • Comfort with hybrid project models, adapting waterfall elements within agile frameworks when needed.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level software deployments or cloud-based rollouts.
